A brief description of the dance styles we teach:

 
 

Disco Freestyle

 

Disco Freestyle is a very popular dance style which incorporates up-to-date dance moves and trends with correct technique and performance skills.

Within the Disco Freestyle class a number of different styles of dance are taught, these include Street, Fast, Slow and Rock’n’Roll, as well as some Alternative Rhythms.


 

Street & Break Dance

Street dance is an umbrella term used to describe dance styles which evolved outside of dance studios. Our Street Dance classes incorporate Hip Hop, Locking, Popping and Breaking using exciting and up-to-date choreography.

 
 


Rock’n’Roll

 

Rock’n’Roll is a fun and fast high impact dance style. It involves flicks, kicks, jumps and lifts. Rock’n’Roll is taught at all levels within our Disco Freestyle classes.



Ballroom & Latin American

 

Ballroom is a very graceful form of dance which has been popularised by BBC’s “Strictly Come Dancing”. Within the classes all the four standard dances are taught – Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango and Quickstep. Viennese Waltz is incorporated in the advanced classes.

Latin American encompasses a variety of rhythms and emotions. The five Latin American dances (Rumba, Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Paso Doble and Jive) are taught from beginner to advanced level.

 


Cheerleading
 

Cheerleading is currently one of our fastest growing dance style. Our cheer classes include pom dance, chants, cheers, stunts and jumps. Team Spirit is the name of the game!

 
 


Majorettes
 

Majorettes is a form of dance which primarily involves baton twirling. Our classes incorporate marching and dance routines with a wide variety of baton twirling skills.




Gymnastics
 

Gymnastics is the performance of exercises which require many physical skills. Our classes teach and promote physical strength, flexibility, co-ordination, agility and balance through a wide variety of exercises and games.


 

Musical Theatre
 

Musical Theatre is a combination of singing, dancing and acting. Our lessons teach a wide range of performance skills and help to build confidence. This class is perfect for all you budding Actors and Actresses!

 


Ballet

 

Ballet is a highly technical form of dance which is best known for its graceful, flowing and precise movements. Ballet helps to develop strength, posture, co-ordination, technique and musical awareness.

Baby Ballet is taught from 2½ years. Pupils then have the opportunity to progress to the Primary Ballet section of the Under 11's class.

 



Tap & Modern

 

Tap is a lively and rhythmic dance form which is a fun way of developing co-ordination and skill.

Modern is a technical form of jazz. During these classes, a variety of styles including a strong jazz style and a slow lyrical style are taught.

Examinations

 

We host two ISTD and two IDTA exam sessions per year for those pupils wishing to gain recognised 
accreditation for their dancing achievements. 
Exams are not compulsory!

 
 

Other Activities

 
We regularly participates in local displays and events, providing pupils with the opportunity to perform publicly whilst supporting our wider community.
